Itinerary for the Chunky River Contest

8:00 AM - guard call time: make-up & hair
8:45 AM - full ensemble call time: load bus & trailer
9:00 AM - Roll call on bus
9:10 AM - Depart for Philadelphia
11:00 AM - Arrive @ Philadelphia
11:50 AM - Roll call on bus
12:00 PM - Depart for Union HS
12:30 PM - Arrive @ Union HS: dress/unload equipment
1:15 PM - Warm-up "Area A"
2:00 PM - Performance
2:15 PM - Re-load all equipment/change out of uniforms
Return to stadium/observe performances
4:00 PM - Awards ceremony
4:45 PM - Load buses/roll call
5:00 PM - Depart for HHS
7:15 PM - Arrive @ HHS/unload & clean up

All equipment, school or personal, must be transported in a case. No food or beverages may be brought onto the bus.

Students may wear "regular clothes" during travel. You will need $$ for lunch during our stop in Philadelphia.

The full uniform must be worn properly (hats, gloves and jackets zipped) at all times during equipment unload, warm-up, performance and re-load. we want to look & act as professional as possible.

After our performance, we will change clothes. You must wear the "Flight" t-shirt w/ jeans. depending on the weather, you may want to wear a long sleeve t-shirt underneath your "Flight" t-shirt or bring a jacket. You may want to bring some money for snacks and drinks from teh concession stands before the awards ceremony. We will not be making a dinner stop on our way back to Houston.

Our of respect for the performers and the audience, spectators are to refrain from entering or leaving the seating area during a band performance. Watch the performances! While other students are performing, give them your undivided attention; be courteous and appreciative. Don't talk during a performance. There will be 5 minute gaps between each group to allow for set-up, so talk then all you want. Cell phones will not be allowed in the stadium. chaperones will confiscate them and return them to you at the bus, if you are found with one inside the stadium.

Students must travel to Union on the bus, but may ride home with a parent. All requests to ride home with a parent must be submitted in writing no later than, Thursday, October 16th, by the end of the school day. Please include the student's name, parent's name and contact numbers on the letter. Each request will be verified by a director. Notification by e-mail or phone is unacceptable. If carpooling with several students, sepaate requests must be made from each student's parents. Check-out after the performance must be made in person with student and parent present in the presence of a director near the buses at 2:15 PM only. Check-out will not be permitted inside the stadium.
