The marching band represents the high school at local, state, and regional competitions during the fall season. The band also performs at home and away football games and in area parades. This group takes a major trip every 4 years. All wind students are required to join this group (fall) and enroll in concert band (spring).
Students should be aware that the marching band rehearses weekly beginning in mid-June and culminates with approximately 2 weeks of training in late July. Students are required to attend all summer and fall rehearsals and performances unless excused by the Director of Bands. Students must be in good physical condition to participate in this group.
Parents should be aware of the financial responsibilities with the Marching Band. Required fees cover the following expenses: Uniform rental and cleaning, contest entry fees, and other incidental expenses. Marching band fees are $35.00
Prerequisite: Completion of Advanced Band at the Middle School and/or enrollment in Concert Band (spring). Grades 9-12 Credits 1/2
Marching Band Auxiliary 1 semester (6th period - fall)
This is a performance course that is a direct extension of the Marching Band. This course is only open to members of the Marching band color guard (flag or rifle) or marching band percussion (battery or front ensemble). Sequential and systematic learning experiences are provided in the area of equipment work and movement.
Students should be aware that color guard members are required to attend a training camp at an area university during the summer and percussion section members rehearse weekly beginning mid-June; both groups' summer training culminates with approximately 3 weeks of rehearsal in late July. Students are required to attend all summer and fall rehearsals and performances unless excused by the Director of Bands. Students must be in good physical condition to participate in this group.

Required fees cover the following expenses: Uniform purchase (guard) or uniform rental and cleaning (percussion), contest entry fees, and other incidental expenses. Marching Band Auxiliary fees are $35.00 + cost of uniform (guard). Grades 9-12 Credits 1/2
